This risk assessment covers badminton play in the sportshall only. It does not cover outside areas including the car parks.

The playing of badminton. Injuries sustained during general gameplay.

Ø       Many of the existing players are of sufficient experience to keep accidents to a minimum by following a shared system of play around court.

Ø       New members are observed playing by the existing members/playing partner who would intervene if they perceived play as dangerous.

Ø       A colour coding system grading players’ ability assists and encourages the playing of balanced games.

Ø       A fully stocked first aid box for minor injuries is kept in the badminton cupboard.
